Day 1: Construction begins at about 10:00 AM. We visit in the morning to take a few last photos of the "before" condition, with the appliances about to move into the garage, the doors and hardware stripped from the walls. A few shots in the evening dusk show that 8 hours later, the house has been flat-topped: the roof is gone! A thin plastic sheet is all that blocks a view of the stars and clouds.
