A new scheme is decided upon for the cold return and hot air ducting for the furnace in the tiny space under the stairs.
The main shutoff switch is wired between the electrical meter box and the service panel in the laundry room. The stranded 4/0 gauge conductors are harder than heck to bend inside the tight confines of the box.
