Armed with a kerosene heater, a temporary electric heater, and multiple thermometers, we begin priming the interior drywall surfaces, followed by a finishing coat on ceiling as soon as they're ready. The challenge is to keep the wall surface itself above 50° F so that the paint cures properly. With overnight lows in the teens, warming up the house during the day with muted sunlight and a small 23000 BTU kerosene heater is difficult.

The dishwasher, an Asko 3350, is delivered in the mid-afternoon.

The stainless steel range hood is in hand. The faucet for the second sink is still under deliberation.

Smoke detectors, 120 VAC with battery backup and silence button, are in hand. But a combination unit also with a CO detector is still required. And code basically requires it to be mounted at the highest point in the house.

No final solution on the uncertain "stair wall" issue.
